- Set the thermostat to Cool, a few degrees below room temperature, and replace its batteries if it uses them.
- Replace the air filter if it looks gray or clogged.
- Check the AC breaker in the panel and the disconnect next to the outdoor unit (reset a tripped breaker once only).
- Clear leaves, plants and boxes about 2 feet around the outdoor unit.
- If you see ice on the lines, switch the system to Off and the fan to On until it melts, then call.
Still not working? Call (323) 240-2373 or tap "Call me back". Do not open electrical panels or touch gas parts.

Troubleshooting
AC Blowing Warm Air? 7 Causes and What to Do
An AC that blows warm air is most often caused by a wrong thermostat setting, a clogged air filter, a tripped breaker for the outdoor unit, or a dirty outdoor coil. If those check out, the likely cause is a failed capacitor or contactor, or a refrigerant leak, and those need a licensed technician.

AC Frozen? Ice on the Lines or Coil: Causes and Fixes
An AC freezes when the indoor coil gets too cold, usually from low airflow (dirty filter, closed vents, weak blower) or low refrigerant from a leak. Turn cooling off and run only the fan to thaw it, replace the filter, and if it freezes again, call a technician to check airflow and refrigerant.

AC Leaking Water Inside the House? Causes and Fixes
An AC leaking water indoors is usually caused by a clogged condensate drain line, a cracked or rusted drain pan, or a frozen coil that is melting. Turn the system off, check the drain line and float switch, and call a technician if the pan is damaged or the leak continues.

Tip
Common problems and what they mean
Leak found in the coil
Usually means replacing the coil, not patching it.
Coil under warranty?
Many coils have a parts warranty. We check before we quote.
Dirty, not leaking
A proper cleaning can restore performance.
Old R-22 system
A new coil on an R-22 system rarely makes sense. We show options.
Pro tip
If the AC is over 12 years old and the coil fails, compare the price of a new system before you replace just the coil.

Studio City, CAI don’t have enough good things to say about WY&G. They are professional, fast, and do quality work. I had a lengthy issue that required working with a home warranty and manufacturer’s warranty that WY&G was able to help me resolve. They are great with communicating and always called me back promptly. I will definitely be using them again.
